About

A lab that is just getting started.

Allostatic Labs is in its founding phase — founder-led, with support from science and development where it is needed. As the lab grows, so will the team.

Motivation

Why Allostatic Labs

The name says it all: allostasis describes stability that arises through change — not through resistance to it. That distinguishes our approach from classic wellness or self-optimisation products that judge states or try to push users towards particular behaviour. We want to understand, not to prescribe.

Allostatic Labs is set up as an independent research lab — deliberately lean, deliberately independent. We do not follow a roadmap geared towards rapid growth at any cost, but one that puts scientific rigour before speed.

Background

Origin

Allostatic Labs grew out of an intensive, long-standing engagement with neuroscience — the NeuroDesign perspective that shapes our work grew from it, not the other way around. That same curiosity reaches beyond neuroscience: cosmology, neutrino physics and quantum mechanics are equally among the fields that feed our view of stability and adaptation. This perspective shapes both the scientific direction and the design restraint with which we develop products: nothing that imposes itself. Nothing that judges. Only what helps you understand your own state.

Founder, Allostatic Labs

The basic idea is old. Years ago I first imagined a system that does not wait for commands, but simply notices how someone works, thinks, gets stuck — and adapts to it, without being asked to.

Building

A growing lab

As research and development progress, the team will grow — scientifically and technically. This page will be updated as soon as there is something to show.
